After a brief Christmas and New Year holiday, Joby began to capture and roughly edit Skin Deep using Final Cut Pro. The film was edited in its Native HD origin using the Apple Intermediate Codec. With other commitments, the rough edit took Joby two weeks to complete, which he then delivered in the Midlands for the other production members to view.

During this time, Joby and Tom Turner (Sound Artist) were also talking to composer Siddhartha Barnhoorn, who had previously scored for Joby on 'Project One'. Sid kindly agreed to lend his fantastic musical talent to the project and Skin Deep's post production was well under way.

Colour Grading

After numerous production meetings, Joby had received specific and more defined feedback about the original rough edit. With some notations in mind, a more crisp and fine edit was created tying the individual scenes together. At this point in post-production it was important to remain faithful to the original script and concept.

Colour and test grading was also carried out on some of the footage at this stage to allow for a glimpse into what the final product was shaping up to look like. The mid-February version of the edit also allowed for Tom to begin work on the sound mixing and design for the film.

March 2007

After a couple of hundred hours in editing and hundreds of emails and words exchanged between all production members. Joby Stephens finished the final edit and grading of Skin Deep ready for the final score to be delivered by Siddhartha Barnhoorn. Tom Turner also made headway into finishing and creating the 5.1 Surround Sound version of the film.
