Set Design Meeting

Originally entitled 'Deep Freeze', pre-production of the short horror began in October 2006 with initial concept development. Inspiration for the short script, written by Joby Stephens, came from the urban myth of kidney theft in Mexico. The concept set the stage and grounded the film in a bathroom location.

A script was drafted and a production team was formed. Joby Stephens, Ruth Harris, Tom Turner and Oliver Waters began to develop the story and begin the preliminary planning. The team were keen to do something different, deliver a professional HD short film for around £1000 and although the film was in itself a conceptual piece, it would be treated throughout production as a complete package.

The bathroom scene was too complex in terms of camera movement, lighting and space to achieve on a location, therefore it was decided that a set and studio environement would be more suitable. The set layout was confirmed and then plans went underway to constuct a set to house the main scene.

Scouting for locations began towards the end of October with approval of the final draft of the script after 5 revisions.
